This short piece is composed around a single four-note motif, heard at the outset in the piano. This collection informs the rhythmic and intervallic content of much of the work.

Artifact was premiered at the Royal Academy of Music for the 2023 Fall Composer’s Platform by cellist Mikolaj Piszczorowicz and pianist Yuk Yu Yang.
